Dear Madam or Sir,
please reserve the
24th February 2026 from 2:30pm-4pm, because the following event will take place at the Federal Ministry of Finance:
Forum Finanz
Presentation and discussion of the EBRD Transition Report 2025-26
"Brave old world"
The EBRD Transition Report 2025-26, entitled Brave old world, examines demographic change and its profound implications for rapidly ageing economies, as well as for economies with
young, fast-growing populations. It outlines recent demographic trends, such as declining fertility rates, and presents policy strategies to address these challenges. These include prolonging productive working lives, boosting automation, and facilitating
labour mobility. The analysis focuses on artificial intelligence and migration policies in the EBRD regions and beyond, as well as on how demographic change shapes policy preferences and societal attitudes.
After opening remarks by Director General Harald Waiglein, EBRD Chief Economist Beata Javorcik will present key findings from the Transition Report 2025-26 at the BMF. The presentation
will be followed by a panel discussion.
The event will be held in English.
We look forward to your participation!
Kind regards,
Austrian Federal Ministry of Finance
