The Faculty of Economics and Statistics at the University of Innsbruck, Austria,

invites applications for

a PhD Position on Cooperation in Adolescence (30 hours per week for 4 years starting on March 1st, 2024).

 

The position is available as of March 1, 2024, or later and will last until February 28, 2028, with renewal on a yearly basis.

This position is to complement research efforts at the SFB on Credence Goods, Incentives, and Behavior funded by the Austrian Science Fund (FWF) (see https://www.uibk.ac.at/credence-goods/index.html.en for further details). The position is to work in close collaboration with Prof. Esther Blanco and Dr. Daniela Glätzle-Rützler. This position is expected to focus on the study of cooperation by adolescents aged 12-18. A special emphasis is put on cooperation regarding climate action and the social implications of daily decisions of adolescents and their families. The methodological focus lies on RCTs (i.e. field experiments in high schools). Main responsibilities include running economic experiments in field settings with adolescents, coordinating field research with high schools, and econometric analyses.

Details and requirements for the PhD positions

Master's Degree (or close to completion) in one of the following fields: (Applied) Game Theory, Experimental Economics/Finance, Behavioral Economics/Finance, or Psychology.

Excellent knowledge of English and German, teamwork capabilities, ability to work independently, and communication skills. Social skills enabling close work with adolescents are essential.

The minimum gross salary per month (14 times a year) for 20 hours per week amounts to EUR 1,639.00 with annual increases. The salary will be increased to EUR 2,458.00 for 30 hours per week once the dissertation agreement has been signed and sent to the Personnel Department.
