Das Wiener Institut für Internationale Wirtschaftsvergleiche (wiiw) bringt durch FIW-Mittel finanzierte Pre-Doc Stelle zur Ausschreibung. Die Ausschreibung

The Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw) is one of the principal centres for economic research on Central, East and
Southeast Europe (CESEE) with more than 45 years of experience. We cover a wide variety of issues in International Economics, focusing on macroeconomic analysis and policy; labour, migration and income distribution; international trade, competitiveness and
FDI; regional development; and sectoral studies. Our research projects are commissioned by Austrian and international clients, and emerge from applications to research funding agencies. We coordinate and are integrated in a large number of international research

We are looking for a
Pre-Doc ECONOMIST
specialised in
international economics and with an interest in environmental issues
Major tasks:
·
Applied empirical research in the field of international economics
·
Participation in the ‘Research Centre International Economics’
fiw.ac.at
·
PhD studies with a related dissertation in international economics
·
Possible participation in other similar projects at wiiw related to the dissertation
The position is limited to one year in the first instance, but can be extended following a satisfactory probationary period.
Start: as soon as possible – ideally by April 2020
Requirements:
·
MA in Economics (good university degree)
·
Interest in applied economic research
·
Good quantitative and econometric skills (use of MS Office, Stata and/or R)
·
Knowledge of both conventional and heterodox economic analyses
·
Excellent English and German (written and oral); knowledge of East European languages is an advantage
·
Very good (proposal) writing and presentation skills
·
Flexibility as well as ability to work in teams
Monthly remuneration for the
30 weekly hours position will be € 2,162.40 gross, 14 times per year, following the standard personnel costs for FWF project proposals.

Innerhalb von zwei Jahren finden 11 Seminare statt. Teilnehmende erhalten nach Besuch von mindestens 8 Seminaren eine Teilnahmebestätigung
des FIW.
Der Besuch einzelner Seminare ist auch ohne Teilnahme am AW-Curriculum möglich.

Invitation to the AW-Curriculum Seminar "Free Trade Agreements”
The Federal Academy of Public Administration, the Competence Centre for International Economics Research (FIW)
and the Federal Ministry for Digitisation and Business Location invite you and your interested colleagues tocordially invited to participate
in the
Foreign Trade Curriculum 2019/2020
The next Seminar regarding Free Trade Agreements with Prof. Dr. Fritz Breuss (WIFO), Julia Grübler, MSc (wiiw)
Will take place on 26 February 2020, 9 a.m. to noon, at the VAB, Hohenstaufengasse 3, 1010 Vienna.
(Registration for seminar B3 is only necessary if you have not registered for the curriculum or if you have not ticked this seminar when
registering for the curriculum;
to register for the seminar)
The seminar is part of the Foreign Trade Curriculum 2019/2020, for which you can register at any time: Registration for the Foreign Trade
Curriculum 2019/2020.
There will be 11 seminars within two years. Participants will receive a confirmation of participation from FIW after attending at least
8 seminars.
It is also possible to attend individual seminars without attending the AW curriculum.
