eines/r Umweltökonmen/in
  • Doktorat oder PhD in Volkswirtschaftslehre oder einem verwandten Gebiet (abgeschlossen zum Zeitpunkt des Stellenantritts)
  • Herausragende Forschungsleistungen in Umweltökonomik oder einem eng verwandtem Teilbereich der Volkswirtschaftslehre, vorzugsweise mit Forschungserfahrung zum Klimawandel

Die Anstellung erfolgt zunächst für 6 Jahre, bei Erfüllung der Qualifizierungsvereinbarung (insbesondere Habilitation) wird die Stelle für den/die erfolgreiche/n Kandidaten/in danach in eine unbefristete Stelle als Associate Professor übergeführt.
 
Der/die erfolgreiche Bewerber/in abeitet im Wegener Center für Klima und Globalen Wandel, innerhalb der Forschungsgruppe “Economics of Climate and Environmental Change” und in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Institut für Volkswirtschaftslehre.

The University of Graz research core area “Environment and Global Change” offers a highly attractive research and teaching environment, with world leading faculty across the relevant disciplines involved from its schools of social sciences and economics, natural sciences, environmental sciences, and the humanities. The Wegener Center for Climate and Global Change hosts research groups from these fields, providing a stimulating interdisciplinary research environment.

Job specification

  • Independent and collaborative environmental economic research in the Wegener Center for Climate and Global Change, within its research group “Economics of Climate and Environmental Change”, and in close collaboration with the Department of Economics
  • Empirical and policy oriented research which is theoretically grounded
  • Dedicated publication activities in innovative climate economic research areas
  • Participation and, in the medium term, lead in research grant applications
  • Teaching in the bachelor and master programs in Economics and in Environmental System Sciences (max. 4 academic hours per semester; teaching language German or English)
  • Tenure track positions are initially offered for a six-year period and, subject to positive evaluation, with tenure thereafter.

Professional qualifications

  • Doctorate/Ph.D. in economics or a related field (completed at commencement of the position)
  • Outstanding research record in environmental economics or a closely related field of economics, preferably with research experience on climate change
  • Experience in empirical and policy oriented research, theoretically grounded
  • Experience in teaching in the area environmental / climate / and/or energy economics (desirable)
  • Experience in research within third party funded projects, especially of internationally integrated projects (desirable)
  • Fluency in English and experience in publishing papers in English

Classification

Salary scheme of the Universitäten-KV (University Collective Agreement): B1 bzw. A2 with qualificational agreement

Minimum salary

The minimum salary as stated in the collective agreement and according to the classification scheme is EUR 3546.00 gross/month bzw. EUR 4193.50 gross/month with qualificational agreement.
