2nd Vienna Workshop on Economic Forecasting 2020,
hosted by the Institute for Advanced Studies (IHS), will take place in hybrid format (on site and virtually) October 29-30, 2020.
The conference welcomes contributions from different approaches to economic forecasting, including forecasts based on time series models (VAR, SVAR, Factor Models,…), DSGE
models, large scale structural models or forecasting using microeconomic data (big data). Another topic of interest is forecast evaluation.
The goal of this conference is to exchange ideas and to discuss recent results and developments in economic forecasting. Authors working in applications or theory of economic
forecasting are invited to submit their work.
In conjunction with the workshop the conference organizers will edit a special issue of the journal
Econometrics (https://www.mdpi.com/journal/econometrics), with submissions open to all participants.
Due to the ongoing uncertainties in relation to COVID-19 and due to the security measures currently in place in Austria we can only welcome about 30 participants on the premises
of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Vienna. We are working at setting up a program that best reflects the participants’ preferences concerning physical or virtual participation at the workshop.
