Fourth ATHEA PhD Workshop

„Health Economics and Health Policy in Austria and Beyond“

The Austrian Health Economics Association (ATHEA) is pleased to announce the 4^th ATHEA PhD Workshop, scheduled for February 26, 2026. ATHEA invites all interested PhD candidates from Austrian universities and research institutions as well as from neighboring countries, to present their PhD (working) papers on health economics and policy.

Workshop format:

The workshop will feature up to four PhD paper presentations, ranging from early stage to more advanced research. Priority will be given to candidates from Austrian institutions. An invited senior health economist will act as a discussant, and other participants will provide feedback on the presented paper.

Abstract submission guidelines:

• Deadline: November 21^st, 2025
• Submission: via e-mail to phd-ws@athea.at
• Subject line: „Submission ATHEA PhD Workshop 2026”

· Information to be provided: title and abstract (approx. 500 words), author and co-author(s), name(s) of the PhD supervisor(s)

Important dates:

· Notification of acceptance: January 12^th, 2026

· Submission of full paper (draft): February 6^th, 2026 (to be sent via e-mail to phd-ws@athea.at for discussant preparation)
