Dritte ATHEA-Konferenz für Gesundheitsökonomie

„Health services research in patients with complex needs“

Wien, 23. und 24. November 2017

Die alternde Bevölkerung stellt nicht nur in quantitativer, sondern auch in qualitativer Hinsicht eine Herausforderung an die bestehenden Gesundheitssysteme dar. Die Behandlung chronischer Erkrankungen geht häufig mit Multimorbiditäten einher, die die Anforderungen an das Management von Behandlungsabläufen und damit oft auch von unterschiedlichen Angebotsstrukturen erhöhen. Unter dem Stichwort der integrierten Versorgung werden hierzu in zahlreichen Ländern Projekte durchgeführt und Versorgungsstrukturen umgebaut, um eine abgestimmte und umfassende Versorgung auch unter diesen erschwerenden Bedingungen weiterhin gewährleisten zu können.

Zur dritten ATHEA Konferenz im November 2017 sind Einreichungen zu allen aktuellen gesundheitsökonomischen und –politischen Themen willkommen, um einen Überblick über die gesundheitsökonomische Forschung in und über Österreich zu erzielen.

Wir freuen uns, zwei renommierte Keynote Speaker ankündigen zu dürfen:

· Prof. Dr. Ellen Nolte, MPH PhD, Honorarprofessorin an der London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) sowie European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies

· Prof. Dr. Chris Bojke, MSc, Professor für Gesundheitsökonomie, Universität Leeds

Ellen Nolte koordiniert am European Observatory die beiden Londoner Niederlassungen an der London School of Economics und an der London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Zuvor leitete sie das Health and Healthcare Policy Programme bei RAND Europe in Cambridge. Ihre Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen einerseits im Bereich internationaler Gesundheitssystemvergleiche und andererseits in der Anpassung von Gesundheitssystemen an chronische Erkrankungen. Neben ihrer umfangreichen Publikationstätigkeit berät sie Regierungen und Institutionen, und hat auch bereits wiederholt in Österreich vorgetragen.

Chris Bojke ist Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Gesundheitsökonomie an der Universität Leeds. Davor war er Senior Research Fellow am Centre for Health Economics in York. Sein besonderes Forschungsinteresse gilt großen Beobachtungsdatensätzen und ihrer Anwendung in Health Technology Assessment und Politikevaluation.

Third ATHEA Conference for Health Economics

„Health services research in patients with complex needs“

Vienna, 23^th and 24^th of November 2017

Ageing populations present a major challenge for current health care systems. Caring for persons with chronic diseases often entails the care for multimorbidity, which poses even higher demands on the management of care processes and the organization of care settings. The buzzword integrated care labels numerous projects and reforms in health care systems across countries which are aimed at achieving comprehensive, well-aligned but also sustainable care for patients with complex needs.

For our third ATHEA conference, we encourage the submission of abstracts on all current topics in health economics and health policy, in order to provide a broad overview on health economic research in and about Austria.

We are happy to announce two well-known keynote speakers:

· Prof. Dr. Ellen Nolte, MPH PhD, honorary professor at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) and the European Observatory on Health Systems and Policies

· Prof. Dr. Chris Bojke, MSc, chair in health economics, University of Leeds

Ellen Nolte currently serves as coordinator of the two London hubs of the European Observatory, at the London School of Economics and at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. She previously acted as director of the Health and Healthcare Policy Programme at RAND Europe in Cambridge. Her research focus is on international health system comparisons and on the impact of chronic diseases on health reforms. Furthermore, she acts as consulter for governments and institutions, and has previously presented her research in Austria on multiple occasions.

Chris Bojke is chair in health economics at the University of Leeds. He previously worked as Senior Research Fellow at the York Centre for Health Economics. He is an empirical health economist specialising in the analysis of observational datasets and their role in health technology assessment and policy evaluation.
