The Vice-Rector for Research is currently inviting applications for a fulltime Senior Scientist position (post-doc, employee subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Staff - Angestellte/r gemäß Kollektivvertrag für die Arbeitnehmer/innen der Universitäten; gross monthly salary, paid 14 times per year: Euro 3,590.70). This employee position will be limited to a period of 3 years, starting on February 1st, 2017 (commencement date subject to change).
Responsibilities:The WU Vice-Rector for Research is currently inviting applications for one fulltime Senior Scientist (Post Doc).
The WU Center for Experimental Research (in the course of formation) represents a new institution at the Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien. Its purpose is to further the experimental method in business and economics, and to run the WU Experimental Research Laboratories. The laboratory infrastructure consists of a large lab with 32 seats, a smaller lab with 11 seats, an eyetracker/bio-physical devices lab as well as an audio lab with six soundproof cabins. The competence center will also offer PhD courses in experimental methods, and organize workshops and conferences.
We are looking for a self-motivated, highly active and productive researcher, who will be expected to support the running of the laboratories, consult other researchers on the use of the experimental method, and at the same time make a significant contribution to the research area.
In particular, your tasks will include
• consultation of researchers on experimental method,
• maintenance of technical labaratory infrastructure,
• development of procedures and rules for labaratory use,
• administration of online recruitment system, and recruitment of participants, and
• administrative support for the director of competence center.
Your Profile:We wish to attract candidates with
• a solid academic qualification (PhD or equivalent) in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field,
• evidence of research quality (e .g., as demonstrated in the job market paper and other papers),
• ample experience in applying the experimental method in business or economics, and
• IT-background and skills necessary to run and administrate an experimental labaratory (programming skills are a plus).
A very good written and oral command of the English language is required (for international candidates, German language skills are a plus). Beyond any formal requirements, we are looking for an enthusiastic, curious person who is passionate about research and willing to take on responsibility.
