we are pleased to announce the Spring School on Perceptions of Wealth Inequality (SPINE) in Bamberg coming March. The school is organized as a research incubator where participants will team up with senior experts and work on a paper to be published in a special issue of Historical Social Research.

Date: March 17 – March 28, 2025

Venue: University of Bamberg (Germany)

Application deadline: August 31, 2024.

Keynote speakers: Fabian Pfeffer, LMU Munich

Costs: Free of charge. Accommodation and meals are provided.

Researcher can apply for the following topics:

• Agent-based simulation of perceptions of wealth (Jan Lorenz, Constructor University Bremen)

• Attitudes towards wealth inequality and redistribution (Nhat An Trinh, University of Oxford)

• Media representations of German immigrants in the U.S. (Liane Rothenberger, KU Eichstätt-Ingolstadt)

• Public debates and statistical wealth surveys in the long 20th century in Germany (Eva Gajek, Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies, Cologne)

• (Self-)perceptions of the global business elite (Diliara Valeeva, University of Amsterdam)

• Wealth perceptions and preferences for taxation and climate policies (Franziska Disslbacher, WU Vienna).
