FIW-Spotlight: Prognose des Warenaußenhandels 2023 und 2024

 

Dieses Spotlight von Yvonne Wolfmayr (WIFO) befasst sich mit der Entwicklung des Warenaußenhandels 2023 und 2024. Trotz widriger Umstände konnte eine robuste Entwicklung der Warenexporte und Marktanteilsgewinne im ersten Halbjahr 2023 festgestellt werden. Allerdings vermitteln Unternehmenseinschätzungen im WIFO-Konjunkturtest einen pessimistischen Ausblick für die zweite Jahreshälfte 2023. Eine mäßige Erholung wird im kommenden Jahr erwartet.

In diesem Policy Brief werden die wichtigsten Entwicklungen seit 2019 analysiert, die potenziellen Vorteile des EU-Mercosur-Abkommens erörtert und auf die aufgekommenen Bedenken eingegangen. Darüber hinaus werden die wirtschaftliche Rolle anderer wichtiger Akteure in der Region, insbesondere der USA und Chinas, sowie Wirtschaftssektoren von besonderer Bedeutung, wie Landwirtschaft und Rohstoffe, in den laufenden Diskussionen über den Abschluss des EU-Mercosur-Abkommens untersucht.

FIW-Spotlight: Forecast for foreign trade in goods 2023 and 2024

 

This spotlight by Yvonne Wolfmayr (WIFO) looks at the development of foreign trade in goods in 2023 and 2024. Despite adverse circumstances, a robust development of goods exports and market share gains were observed in the first half of 2023. However, company assessments in the WIFO Business Survey convey a pessimistic outlook for the second half of 2023. A moderate recovery is expected in the coming year.

FIW-Policy Brief: The EU–Mercosur agreement: Expectations and concerns in light of the new geopolitical situation

 

This policy brief will analyze significant developments since 2019, explore the potential benefits of the EU–Mercosur agreement, and address concerns that have been raised. It will also assess the economic roles of other key actors in the region, namely the USA and China, and the economic sectors of particular importance, such as agriculture and raw materials, in the ongoing discussions surrounding the conclusion of the EU–Mercosur agreement.
