We invite you to submit an abstract to our 1st Vienna Workshop on Economic Forecasting 2018.
The 1st Vienna Workshop on Economic Forecasting 2018, hosted by the Institute for Advanced Studies – Institut für Höhere Studien (IHS), will take place on
February 15-16, 2018.
The conference welcomes contributions from different approaches to economic forecasting, including forecasts based on time series models (VAR, SVAR, Factor Models,…), DSGE models, large scale
structural models. Another topic of interest is forecast evaluation.
The goal of this conference is to exchange ideas and to discuss recent results and developments in economic forecasting. Authors working in applications or theory of economic forecasting are invited to submit an abstract.

Panel Discussion
At the end of the workshop a panel of Austrian forecasters from different institutions
(such as IHS, OeNB, WIFO, WKO), moderated by Manfred Deistler
(TU Wien), will discuss the implications of the insights gained for practice. We expect that similar implications apply to the forecasting communities of other small countries.
Publication
In conjunction with the workshop we plan to publish a special volume of
'Empirical Economics' - Academic Journal of the Institute for Advanced Studies. Workshop participants are invited to submit.
Registration and Submission
Registration and online submission of an abstract is possible through the conference management system
Conftool from September 28, 2017 and must be received by November 30, 2017. Acceptance for presentation (oral or poster) will be communicated by December 31, 2017.
