Dear Colleagues,

We cordially invite you to the FairTax Conference on "Options for an EU Tax as an EU Own Resource".

The conference is organised by WIFO, Mendel University in Brno and King's College London within the Horizon 2020 EU project FairTax (www.fair-tax.eu) and will take place on September 19th, 2016 at the Austrian Institute of Economic Research WIFO, Vienna.

The objective of the conference is to promote the exchange of ideas among researchers working on reform options for the EU system of own resources in general, and for own EU taxes to substitute national contributions by EU Member States in particular: Hereby considering both conventional tax policy criteria as well as evaluation criteria that capture the four dimensions of sustainability relevant to revenue and tax systems (economic, social, environmental, and cultural/institutional sustainability). Contributions will analyse all the aspects connected with possible candidates for an EU tax as an EU own resource to finance the EU budget: Potential effects on sustainable development, gender impacts, institutional implications, regional distribution of the tax burden, and budgetary implications.
