We are delighted to extend an invitation to a distinguished lecture titled "Will Central Bank Digital Currency Disintermediate Banks?" by Professor Toni Whited. This lecture will
be held on May 23rd, 2024, from 14:00 to 15:30 at the premise of the
Institute for Advanced Studies, Josefstädter Straße 39, 1080 Vienna.
Our esteemed guest, Professor Toni Whited, the Frederick G. L. Huetwell Professor and Professor of Economics at the University of Michigan, will be presenting insights garnered
from her extensive expertise in economics and finance. Professor Whited's career includes
numerous accomplishments, with over 40 articles published in prestigious economics and finance journals. Her research spans various important areas, including the effects of financial frictions on corporate investment, corporate
cash policy, and structural estimation of dynamic models.
Professor Whited's academic credentials include a Ph.D. from Princeton University, where she worked closely with Ben Bernanke. Throughout her career, she has been recognized with
accolades such as the Jensen Prize for outstanding contributions to corporate finance and the Brattle Prize for one of the top articles in the Journal of Finance.
Professor Whited's lecture will offer invaluable insights for both seasoned professionals and aspiring scholars in the field of finance. Join us as we delve into the intricate
