Extent of employment:         28 hours per week
Duration of employment:      1st of October 2024, limited to 30th of September 2025 (with option to extend for a further 2 years)

Gross monthly salary and pay grade in terms of collective agreement for university staff (payable 14 times per year): B1, € 2.505,20

Responsibilities:
  • Collaboration in the research project FORLand on the land use behavior of farms
  • Collaboration in the research project GHGFarm on the greenhouse gas emmission efficiency of farms 
  • Collaboration in teaching
  • Presentation of research results at relevant scientific conferences (national, international)
  • Publication activities in international scientic journals
Required skills and qualifications:
  • Diploma degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics or other equivalent university degree
  • Excellent in German and English
  • Interest in economic and ecological issues in the field of agriculture
  • Experience in handling large amounts of data
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of quantitative research methods in economics (data analysis, mathematical optimization, econometrics)
  • Programming skills in R, STATA, GAUSS or other statistical software
Desired skills and qualifications:
  • Knowledge of modelling greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural operations
  • Experience in productivity and efficiency analysis (data envelopment analysis, stochastic frontier analysis)
  • Solid knowledge of microeconomic theory of production
  • Knowledge and experience in mathematical optimization (especially linear programming)
  • Knowledge and experience with regression analysis
  • Ability to work in a team
  • to complete a doctoral program in social science and economic at BOKU is desired
