The Institute for Macroeconomics is currently inviting applications for a full-time Assistant Professor, non-tenure track position (Universitätsassistent/in post-doc, employee subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Staff - Angestellte/r gemäß Kollektivvertrag für die Arbeitnehmer/innen der Universitäten; gross monthly salary, paid 14 times per year: Euro 3,711.10). This substitute employee position will be limited to a period from October 15, 2018 (commencement date subject to change) until October 1, 2020.

 

Please note that under the terms of the WU personnel development plan, the position of Assistant Professor, non-tenure track, is limited to an employment period of not more than six years. Applicants who are already employed at WU as substitute employees can therefore only be employed for the time remaining to complete the six-year period. Persons who have already been employed at WU in an Assistant Professor, non-tenure track position cannot be re-employed in this position at WU (except as a substitute employee) due to legal restrictions.

Responsibilities:

 

- Conduct research on macroeconomics and applied econometrics, preferably using Bayesian methods

- Assist in teaching programmes offered by the department, in particular by offering courses on Macroeconometrics

- Supervise students at the Bachelor and Master level

- Collaborate in organization and administration

- Active involvement in the acquisition of third-party project funding

 

Your Profile:

 

- Doctoral degree in economics or a related discipline

- Strong background in applied econometrics and quantitative economics, in particular in Bayesian econometrics

- Demonstrated potential to conduct high-quality research

- Teaching experience is an advantage
