Productivity in Italy: Analysis and Policy

Webinar with Carlo Altomonte, Italian National Productivity Board

The Office of the Austrian Productivity Board (Produktivitätsrat) invites you to an online Seminar with Carlo Altomonte, President of the Italian National Productivity Board, on 14 October 2025.

Abstract
In Italy, as in the rest of Europe, the stagnant dynamics of productivity represent a structural constraint, often overlooked in the formulation of public policies. Since the determinants of productivity are cross-cuIing – from innovation to the quality of institutions – it is necessary to adopt an integrated approach, overcoming the fragmentation between areas of intervention. To reverse the trend, a joint effort is needed at the national and European level, oriented towards the long term and supported by empirical evidence.
