Conference Programme Outline:
The Research Centre International Economics - FIW invites to its 11th Research Conference ‘International Economics’.
The main objective of the conference is to provide a platform for economists working in the field of ‘International Economics’ in Austria and
its neighbouring countries to present recent research as well as to discuss current policy.
Recent working papers from both young researchers – i.e. Ph.D. students, post-graduate students, young faculty members etc. – and established
senior researchers will be presented during parallel sessions focusing on one topic of ‘International Economics’.
We aim at completing our programme with policy-oriented contributions:

the University of Ljubljana, the Universita di Bologna, University of Economics Bratislava and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA KRTK).
The Research Centre International Economics FIW is a project of WIFO, wiiw and WSR on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Economic Affairs. The FIW cooperation with
the Vienna University of Economics and Business, the University Vienna, the Johannes Kepler University Linz and the University of Innsbruck is supported by the Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research.

Förderpreis für Frauen in der Wirtschaftsforschung
FIW Award für Masterarbeiten
im Bereich International Economics
Im Rahmen des Kompetenzzentrums „Forschungsschwerpunkt Internationale Wirtschaft“ wird der „FIW Award“ bis zu einer Höhe von
€ 3.000,00 für Nachwuchswissenschaftlerinnen ausgeschrieben.
Der Preis richtet sich an qualifizierte Wissenschafterinnen bis zu einer Altersgrenze von 35 Jahren, die ihre Masterarbeiten (oder Diplomarbeiten) an einer österreichischen Universität im Bereich
„International Economics“ verfasst haben oder an österreichische StaatsbürgerInnen, die ihre Master- oder Diplomarbeit an einer Universität im Ausland verfasst haben
Der „FIW Award“ hat das Ziel, hervorragende Masterarbeiten und Diplomarbeiten von Frauen sichtbar zu machen und zu prämieren. Frauen sollen damit motiviert werden, eine wissenschaftliche Karriere
einzuschlagen.
Die Höhe des Preises von insgesamt € 3.000,00 kann auf mehrere Nachwuchswissenschaftlerinnen aufgeteilt werden.
Insbesondere werden theoretische, empirische und wirtschaftspolitische Masterarbeiten und Diplomarbeiten in folgenden Themenbereichen gefördert:
Internationale Makroökonomik, Außenwirtschaft, Europäische Integration, Internationaler Handel, Internationaler Wettbewerb, Direktinvestitionen, Migration, Internationale Wirtschaftsentwicklung,
Multinationale Unternehmen, Entwicklungsökonomie, Globalisierung, Internationale Handels- und Finanzinstitutionen, Wechselkursregime und internationale Finanzmärkte¸ bzw. ähnliche Themen.
Der Abschluss der Masterarbeit oder Diplomarbeit (Beurteilungsdatum) muss im Zeitraum 1.1. 2017 bis 15. November 2018 erfolgt sein.

FIW-Award for Master thesis
The Research Center International Economics announces the "FIW Award" worth up to an amount of € 3,000.00, which will be awarded to young female scientists.
The prize is intended for qualified female scientists up to the age of 35, who have written their master's theses (or diploma theses) at an Austrian university
in the field of "International Economics" or to Austrian citizens who have completed their master's or diploma thesis at a university wrote abroad
The aim of the "FIW Award" is to make outstanding master theses and diploma theses of women visible and rewarded. Women should be motivated to pursue a career
in science.
The total price of € 3,000.00 can be divided among several young female scientists.
In particular, theoretical, empirical and economic policy master theses and diploma theses are funded in the following subject areas:
International Macroeconomics, Foreign Trade, European Integration, International Trade, International Competition, Direct Investment, Migration, International
Economic Development, Multinational Enterprises, Development Economics, Globalization, International Trade and Financial Institutions, Exchange Rate Regimes and International Financial Markets and similar topics.
Only master's thesis or diploma thesis (assessment date) completed between 1 January 2017 and 15 November 2018 qualify for consideration.
