We are pleased to announce the Call for Papers for the 53rd Oesterreichische Nationalbank Annual Economic Conference in cooperation with SUERF - The European Money & Finance Forum with the title „Monetary Policy trade-offs in a heterogenous currency area”, which will take place on June 18-19, 2026 in Vienna (hybrid).

We welcome theoretical and empirical papers that advance the policy debate on monetary policy design and effectiveness in a heterogeneous currency area, particularly on the following themes (submissions related to the broader conference theme are encouraged):

➡️ Household Heterogeneity and its Macroeconomic Impact
➡️ Firms, Productivity Dispersion, and Sectoral Shocks
➡️ Housing Markets, Mortgages, and Regional differences

➡️ Labour Markets, Wage-Setting, and Employment Stability

➡️ Fiscal–Monetary–Macroprudential Coordination in a Heterogeneous Union
