Annual Meeting of the Austrian Economic Association (NOeG)
September 28-29, 2023, University of Salzburg
“Economics in Times of Uncertainty”
A war on the EU’s doorstep, skilled labor shortages, AI-driven automation, supply chain disruptions, high inflation levels and a looming threat of stagflation – the current economic environment is characterized by a high degree of uncertainty. This year’s conference
of the Austrian Economic Organization (NOeG) aims to discuss the implications of this uncertainty on consumers, firms and governments, labor and financial markets, industrial organization, and fiscal and monetary policy. The organizers invite submissions of
full papers on these topics as well as from all areas of Economics and Finance.

Submission
We invite full papers or extended abstracts on the conference topic as well as all other fields of economics to be submitted until May 31, 2023, via
http://www.conftool.com/noeg-2023. We further invite the submission of whole sessions (four papers related to a common topic) from all fields in economics until May 31, 2023, to noeg2023@plus.ac.at. Notification regarding acceptance will be sent out by
June 30, 2023.
Publication of Papers
After peer-review accepted papers may be published in a special conference issue of Empirica: Journal of European Economics. In case you would like your paper to be considered for the special issue please indicate this on the submission website.
Young Economist Award
The Austrian Economic Association offers a prize of EUR 750 for outstanding papers – to be presented at the conference – by economists up to the age of 35 years. For joint papers, this age limit holds for all co-authors. Please indicate your eligibility for
the award on the submission website.
Registration
Please register for the conference by July 15, 2023, at the latest. The conference fee amounts to EUR 100 and is waived for NOeG members (membership is EUR 55 per year – see
