Dear colleagues, in the name of the Department of Economics, JKU Linz, I cordially invite you to our research seminar Our next speaker, on the 16th of June, 2021, at 4pm: Giulia Giupponi (Bocconi University) https://www.giuliagiupponi.com/ <https://www.giuliagiupponi.com/> Minimum Wages and the Wage Policy of Firms Giulia Giupponi is an Assistant Professor of Economics in the Department of Social and Political Sciences at Bocconi University. Her research interests are in the areas of Labor and Public Economics, with a focus on social insurance programs, minimum wage policy, and labor market inequalities. Before joining Bocconi, she was a Post-doctoral Fellow at the Institute for Fiscal Studies and received a Ph.D. in Economics from the London School of Economics. She received the Young Economist Award of the EEA (2019) for “When Income Effects are Large: Labor Supply Responses and the Value of Welfare Transfers”, CEP Discussion Paper No. 1651 Selected publications: * “Subsidizing Labor Hoarding in Recessions: The Employment and Welfare Effects of Short Time Work”, with C.
