Job offer: Pre-Doc or Post-Doc ECONOMIST specialised in European economic policy or macroeconomics (m/f/d)
Dear colleagues, The Vienna Institute for International Economic Studies (wiiw) is looking for *a Pre-Doc or Post-Doc Economist specialised in European economic policy or macroeconomics (m/f/d).* *Major tasks:* • Widen our expertise on economic policy in Europe and beyond as part of a new, growing research group • Do applied empirical research in the context of new projects on macroeconomics and European economic policy • Develop and conduct your own research on macroeconomics and economic policy • Contribute to bringing our research findings into the public debate *Desired qualifications:* • Master’s or PhD in economics (or related fields of study; e.g. political economy or economic history) • Pronounced interest in empirical research • Skills in econometrics/quantitative research methods • Existing research experience is desirable but not strictly necessary • Excellent command of English • Language skills in German are helpful but not required • High capacity for teamwork • Interest in economic policy debates *Closing date for applications: *October 20th, 2022 *Start*: as early as possible The position is *limited to two years *in the first instance, but will likely be extended into permanent employment following a satisfactory probationary period. Monthly remuneration (14 times per year) will be € 2,300.37 gross or above for the 30 weekly hours position as a Pre-Doc; and € 4,061.50 gross or above for the 40 weekly hours position as a Post-Doc, depending on qualification.
