The workshop will focus on "Housing markets in Autria and CESEE: Homing in on prices, affordability and financial stability" Housing markets in Austria and CESEE may be at a turning point given economic slowdown, high inflation, tighter financing conditions and elevated uncertainty among households and businesses. The aim of this workshop is to bring together academics and policymakers from Austria and CESEE to exchange views on recent house price developments and burgeoning financial stability risks linked to housing markets. We will also discuss potential policy measures to address the eroding affordability of housing for many households given that they are already stretched by rising living and housing costs.
