Migration Survey 2025: Implementation, Experiences and Findings on Migration and Integration in Austria Jonas Kolb, Statistik Austria Abstract: Migration and integration cannot be deduced solely from register data or administrative data, but are also an expression of subjective assessments and perspectives. The migration survey is a sample survey conducted annually by Statistics Austria, focusing on various dimensions of migration and integration. The presentation will first provide insights into the design of the survey, the multilingual questionnaire, the composition of the sample, the correspondence and the use of incentives. The second part will present the special features of the survey related to the hard-to-reach target group. In this context, the presentation will focus in particular on the challenges posed by a multilingual questionnaire and response rates. Subsequently, selected findings will be presented using examples that provide insights into the subjective dimension of migration and integration. Finally, the possibility for interested researchers to use the migration survey data set for scientific purposes will be explained.
