Research Fellow in Energy Economics The non-university research association Energieinstitut an der Johannes Kepler Universität Linz seeks to hire a graduate researcher with strong quantitative skills for economic analyses in the energy system. JOB DESCRIPTION Energieinstitut an der Johannes Kepler Universität Linz, Department of Energy Economics, Place of work: Linz, Austria 38,430€ per annum / open-ended contract The Energieinstitut conducts research projects either funded by national Austrian institutions or European funds, and you will be involved in several of these projects at the same time. These projects deal with a wide variety of energy-related topics, including macro econometric models of the economy on different regional scales, the development and implementation of household surveys and survey experiments, and the handling, aggregation and interpretation of large data sets, to name just a few. However, besides scientific work the job also requires supporting the senior team members on the administrative level, like the organisation of meetings and workshops, the preparation of the minutes thereof, the preparation of progress reports to funding bodies, or formatting of working papers, technical reports, or books. You should have a high degree of competence in planning and executing research, coupled with an ability to work in multi-disciplinary teams. Language skills in German and existing knowledge of energy economics and the energy system are advantageous, but are not prerequisite.
