Responsibilities:
Teaching at the (under-)graduate level, both independent and co- teaching with other members of the instituteActive participation in the institute's current research agendaResearch assistance and administrative supervision of current projects at the instituteCo- supervision of bachelor and master thesesStudent support related to the institute's teaching and research fields Your Profile: The successful candidate is expected to contribute to the institute's teaching and research agenda and to provide research assistance for currently active projects in the form of literature surveys, data preparation, and econometric analyses. He/She will work together closely with other researchers at the WGI and is expected to produce high-quality research targeted at top-tier journals in the field. In addition to working with WGI staff, the successful candidate is also welcome to pursue his/her own independent research activities (i.e. dissertation/PhD).
He/she should provide a written motivation how he/she can contribute to the current research agenda at the WGI, either in the field of income/wealth inequality, voting behaviour, migration and/or other relevant fields concerning spatial inequality.
We wish to attract candidates with a strong focus on empirical methods, meeting the following criteria: Masters in Economics, Socioeconomics, Geography and/or related subjectsStrong quantitative skills, especially in the field of econometrics and spatial econometricsProgramming experience in either R or SAS, preferably both. Experience with other programs (Git, LaTeX, PostgreSQL) beneficial, but not requiredStrong English and communication skillsExperience in working with large micro/macro databases preferredPrevious research experience in line with the institute's agenda (e.g., inequality, voting behaviour, income inequality, migration) preferredTeaching experience beneficial
