Liebe Studierende,

anlässlich der EU-Wahlen laden wir euch gemeinsam mit der Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Europapolitik (ÖGfE) herzlich zur Veranstaltung „EU matters“ ein, bei der wir die österreichischen Spitzenkandidat*innen für das Europäische Parlament zu einer Diskussion im Audimax am Campus WU begrüßen dürfen.

• Helmut Brandstätter, Abgeordneter zum Nationalrat und Spitzenkandidat EU-Wahl, NEOS
• Reinhold Lopatka, Spitzenkandidat EU-Wahl, ÖVP
• Evelyn Regner, Vizepräsidentin des Europäischen Parlaments und stellvertretende Delegationsleiterin der SPÖ im EU-Parlament und Kandidatin EU-Wahl, SPÖ
• Lena Schilling, Spitzenkandidatin EU-Wahl, Die Grünen
• Petra Steger, Abgeordnete zum Nationalrat und Kandidatin EU-Wahl, FPÖ

Gabriel Felbermayr, Professor an der WU und Direktor des Wirtschaftsforschungsinstituts (WIFO), wird vor der Diskussion in einem Impulsvortrag die Themen Sicherheit und Wohlstand in Europa beleuchten.

Paul Schmidt, Generalsekretär der ÖGfE, übernimmt die Moderation.

Im Anschluss besteht die Möglichkeit für Fragen aus dem Publikum.

on the occasion of the upcoming European Parliament elections, we’d like to invite you to our “EU matters” event, organized in cooperation with the Austrian Society for European Politics (ÖGfE), where the leading Austrian candidates will present their positions in a panel discussion held in the Audimax auditorium on Campus WU.

• Helmut Brandstätter, Member of the National Council and lead candidate for the EU elections, NEOS
• Reinhold Lopatka, lead candidate for the EU elections, ÖVP
• Evelyn Regner, Vice-President of the European Parliament and Deputy Head of Delegation of the SPÖ in the EU Parliament and EU election candidate, SPÖ
• Lena Schilling, lead candidate for the EU elections, Die Grünen
• Petra Steger, Member of the Austrian National Council and EU election candidate, FPÖ

Before the discussion, Gabriel Felbermayr, professor at WU and director of the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO), will give a keynote speech addressing the topics of security and prosperity in Europe.

The event will be moderated by ÖGfE Secretary General Paul Schmidt.

After the discussion, the panelists will take questions from the audience.
