As part of a research project co-funded by the Anniversary Fund of the Austrian National Bank, Marcel Fink, Peter Grand, Guido Tiemann, and Gerlinde Titelbach analyze this relationship for Austria and present selected findings. Their analysis of the development labor market risks across occupational social classes shows that, despite cyclical fluctuations, strong structural patterns have persisted over the last 15 years. Second, group-specific labor market vulnerabilities have become an increasingly important predictor of attitudes toward social policy. However, this applies mainly to "general" social risks and measures-such as overall redistribution, aging, and health-and less to group-specific risks and policies, such as unemployment or access to social benefits for migrants. Speaker Marcel Fink, Gerlinde Titelbach, and Guido Tiemann are Senior Researchers in the IHS research group Social Cohesion and Polarization, while Peter Grand is a Senior Researcher in the Competence Center Survey Research.
