Working Paper No. 06 Jarosław Kantorowicz, Monika Köppl-Turyna (2017) The authors apply the difference-in-discontinuities design to disentangle the fiscal effects of the governance system conditional on electoral systems. The results confirm an interaction effect between the governance system and electoral rules affecting fiscal imbalance of municipalities. * United in Diversity? An Empirical Investigation on Europe’s Regional Social Capital (https://www.agenda-austria.at/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Working-Paper-No-07...) Working Paper No. 07 Fabian Braeseman, Fabian Stephany (2017) In this paper a factor analysis model is applied to different aspects of social capital measured in the European Social Survey. The analysis shows that in addition to generalised social capital there is also the dimension of civic engagement and one of communitarian values. The authors argue for policies with a regional focus in order to take sub-national structures into account. ** 2.
