The conference will focus on "CESEE's second transition - challenges on the road to low-carbon economies." Roughly three decades after their successful transition to market economies, the countries of Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe (CESEE) face the challenges of a second transition toward carbon neutrality. During our upcoming East Jour Fixe, we will try to map this endeavor by comparing past, present and future climate policy strategies in CESEE and other EU member economies. After assessing the green investment needs in the region, we will then discuss how well prepared the financial sector and its regulatory framework are to meet these challenges.
