Sehr geehrte Kolleginnen und Kollegen, seit 2009 war ich Managing Editor von Empirica - Journal of European Economics. Jetzt habe ich mich entschlossen, den Job in jüngere Hände zu legen. Die NOeG und das Wifo, die zusammen mit Springer die Empirica herausgeben, haben in der Vorstandssitzung vom 16.11.2020 beschlossen, dass Professor Harald Oberhofer (WU Wien und Wifo) meine Nachfolge antreten wird. Er wird als Editor-in-Chief zusammen mit einem Team von fünf weiteren Co-EditorInnen ab 2021 die Empirica betreuen. Die Empirica wurde bereits 1974 vom Wifo gegründet. Nach mehreren Verlagswechseln wird sie nun von Springer vertrieben. Im Jahr 2009 wurde die Empirica neue aufgestellt: die Einreichungen erfolgen seither elektronisch, der Fokus wurde auf "European Economics" umgestellt und das Layout erneuert. Seit 2012 wurde sie auch in das laufende Ranking System des SSCI aufgenommen. Betrug der Impact Faktor 2012 nur 0.25 so ist er seither laufend bis zuletzt 2019 auf 0.89 gestiegen. Zum Abschied möchte ich mich bei Ihnen recht herzlich bedanken, dass Sie - entweder als AutorInnen oder als GutachterInnen - zum wachsenden Erfolg von Empirica beigetragen haben. Ich wünsche Herrn Oberhofer und seinem Team viel Erfolge für die Fortführung von Empirica.
