The Institute for Institutional and Heterodox Economics is currently inviting applications for an Assistant Professor, non-tenure track Fulltime, 40 hours/week Your responsibilities The successful candidate is expected to contribute to an environment of excellence and collaboration to augment the research, teaching, and service activities of the Institute for Institutional and Heterodox Economics and the Department of Economics. He/she conducts research on institutional and/or heterodox economics, understood as a social science dealing with economic policies and processes and their interrelations with and influence on social institutions. He/she is qualified in a heterodox tradition, and familiar with a range of theoretical and epistemological approaches to economic thought. The successful candidate provides teaching skills that correspond to the institute's teaching duties at the Bachelor's (Economic Policy; Political Economy and the History of Economic Thought; Institutional Economics; Media Economics) and Master's (Economic Policy; Heterodox Economics) level. Your profile We wish to attract candidates interested in economic pluralism, who employ qualitative and quantitative empirical methods, and who meet the following requirements: - Has a solid academic qualification (PhD or equivalent) in Economics (or a related field), completed when starting the position - Has a promising publication record (or progress towards publications) related to the field of heterodox economics in international scientific journals - Shows a commitment to excellence in teaching - Experience in the acquisition of and participation in thirdparty funded projects is preferred - Has the ability to enlarge and deepen the network of contacts with the international academic community - Willing and able to participate in organizational and administrative duties of the institute, including supervision of students' theses - Has excellent communication, social, and teamwork skills Non-German speaking candidates are expected to acquire knowledge of working German. Beyond the aforementioned formal requirements, we are looking for an enthusiastic, curious person who is committed to research and willing to take on responsibility. The gross monthly salary is € 3,803.90 (paid 14 times per year).
