The OECD NAEC Innovation LAB<http://www.oecd.org/naec/projects/naecinnovationlab/> will host a conference on "New Analytical Tools & Techniques for Economic Policymaking" on 15-16 April in Paris. This should be a great forum for policy/new ideas to connect, as well as bringing together a wide range of research and policy communities. The conference will focus on research that addresses policy challenges using new approaches and data that can provide a more realistic way of thinking about the world as it really is and help policymakers to better understand and address a range of policy challenges. New tools and methods can explore new dimensions of policy issues including policy interactions, complex systems, non-rational behaviour, multi-dimensional outcomes, network phenomena, non-linear responses, distributional impacts and geospatial effects. At the OECD, the New Approaches to Economic Challenges (NAEC) Initiative<http://www.oecd.org/naec/> is exploring tools and approaches that could contribute to better understanding of the complexity and interaction of our economic, financial, social and environmental systems.
