Job specification * Independent and collaborative environmental economic research in the Wegener Center for Climate and Global Change, within its research group “Economics of Climate and Environmental Change”, and in close collaboration with the Department of Economics * Empirical and policy oriented research which is theoretically grounded * Dedicated publication activities in innovative climate economic research areas * Participation and, in the medium term, lead in research grant applications * Teaching in the bachelor and master programs in Economics and in Environmental System Sciences (max. 4 academic hours per semester; teaching language German or English) * Tenure track positions are initially offered for a six-year period and, subject to positive evaluation, with tenure thereafter. Professional qualifications * Doctorate/Ph.D. in economics or a related field (completed at commencement of the position) * Outstanding research record in environmental economics or a closely related field of economics, preferably with research experience on climate change * Experience in empirical and policy oriented research, theoretically grounded * Experience in teaching in the area environmental / climate / and/or energy economics (desirable) * Experience in research within third party funded projects, especially of internationally integrated projects (desirable) * Fluency in English and experience in publishing papers in English Personal profile * Strong dedication to scientific excellence in research and teaching and ability to also inspire collaborators and students * Ability to perform independent research as well as to collaborate in research teams * Joy of working with people in an interdisciplinary and internationally oriented environment * Responsible work style, and distinct problem solving skills Classification Salary scheme of the Universitäten-KV (University Collective Agreement): B1 bzw.
