Prof. Issing has been President of the Center for Financial Studies since 2006. From 1998 to 2006, he was a Member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank, responsible for Economics and Research, so to speak the Chief Economist and chief architect of the current ECB monetary policy strategy. This strategy is currently under review. Before his spell at the ECB, Professor Issing was a Member of the Board of Deutsche Bundesbank, a Member of the German Council of Economic Experts and Professor of Economics at the University of Wuerzburg and at the University of Erlangen-Nuernberg. The webinar is jointly organized by Aurel Schubert, former Director General Statistics, ECB and by the Institute for Analytical Economics at WU Vienna.
