Trump angekündigten US-Zollerhöhungen Der US-Präsidentschaftskandidat D. Trump hat im Falle seiner Wiederwahl erhebliche Zollerhöhungen auf US-Importe im Allgemeinen und speziell gegen China angekündigt. Solche Maßnahmen könnten das globale Handelssystem weiter destabilisieren und hätten unmittelbare negative Auswirkungen auf die Einkommen in den Exportmärkten wie der EU und China. Die Berechnungen von Robert Stehrer (wiiw) und Oliver Reiter (wiiw) anhand eines multisektoralen Gleichgewichtsmodells zeigen jedoch, dass die Folgen für die USA selbst noch gravierender wären. Neuseeland sowie andererseits in Bezug auf die geoökonomische Bedeutung und die wirtschafts- und geopolitischen Ziele der EU ein. Kernstück der Analyse ist eine modellgestützte quantitative Bewertung der zu erwartenden langfristigen makroökonomischen Auswirkungen dieser Abkommen auf Sektorebene. Trump has announced significant tariff increases on US imports in general and against China in particular. Such measures could further destabilize the global trading system and would have a direct negative impact on incomes in export markets such as the EU and China. However, calculations by Robert Stehrer (wiiw) and Oliver Reiter (wiiw) based on a multi-sectoral equilibrium model show that the consequences for the US itself would be even more serious. The core of the analysis is a model-based quantitative assessment of the expected long-term macroeconomic effects of these agreements at sectoral level.
