Dear colleagues, COVID-19 is causing serious health, social and economic challenges, several of which are directly related to demographic factors. While the initial efforts focus on slowing the spread of the pandemic and mitigating its immediate impact, there are likely to be significant longer-term demography-related consequences. The Wittgenstein Centre for Demography and Global Human Capital is dedicating it’s annual conference to the COVID-19 pandemic and it‘s demographic aspects. The conference offers a scientific platform for presenting and discussing in a timely fashion the contributions demographic research can make in resolving the present and future challenges that arise from the pandemic.
