Was passiert gerade? Was müsst ihr tun? Freundliche Grüße, euer IT Support Team ----------- This news in English ----------- Dear students, As you may have noticed, we are simplifying the WU campus Wi-Fi networks. Until now, you could connect to two Wi-Fi networks at WU: "wu" and "eduroam." The use of "wu" was recommended up to this point but is no longer necessary due to technical updates. The Wi-Fi network "wu" will therefore be deactivated during the winter semester 2021/22. We apologize for the late information and the resulting confusion. Thank you for being patient. What is happening right now? The network "wu" is currently no longer shown in the list of available WLAN networks on campus. Devices that already have "wu" configured may take a long time to get an internet connection. What do you need to do? Because the Wi-Fi network "wu" will be discontinued at a later point during the winter semester, we recommend using the Wi-Fi network "eduroam" on your devices. Instructions and configuration data are available on our website https://short.wu.ac.at/wi-fi. What are the advantages of "eduroam"? Education Roaming allows you to access the Internet at all institutions participating in the eduroam project in Austria<https://www.aco.net/eduroam_teilnehmer.html?L=1> and around the world<https://eduroam.org/where/>. The Wi-Fi connection is set up once at WU. Your devices will then automatically connect to "eduroam" at all other institutions. Where can I get help? If you have trouble setting up the Wi-Fi connection, our staff at the IT Service Desk in the Teaching Center or the IT Support Center in the D2 building will be happy to assist you. · Location of IT Service Desk<https://campus.wu.ac.at/?poi-id=1171&floor=0&zlevel=20> (TC) · Location of IT Support Center<https://campus.wu.ac.at/?poi-id=436&floor=0&zlevel=20> (D2) · Opening hours<https://www.wu.ac.at/en/it/contact/openinghours#c432642> Thank you for supporting this adjustment.
