*INTERNSHIP: Health and Care Unit / European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research** * The European Centre for Social Welfare Policy and Research, a UN-affiliated intergovernmental organization based in Vienna, is recruiting an intern for a 3-month period attached to the institute’s Health & Care Unit. The internship will allow the successful candidate to acquaint him/herself with the tasks and responsibilities of working in a research environment and to benefit from exchanges with colleagues on a wide range of subjects. The intern will have the opportunity to participate actively in project meetings as well as in wider institutional seminars and other activities. 2017 Impact Factor for Empirica = 0.706

Dear Colleagues, last week, the 2017 Impact Factor (JCR) for Springer Journals has been released. Fortunately, the IF for Empirica- Journal of European Economics has increased to 0.706 from 0.658 (2016). This means a further improvement since the first ranking in 2013 (IF 0.160). As Managing Editor I am happy about the good performance of Empirica which is not at least the merit of your active participation in submitting (and reviewing) papers to (of) our journal. Of course, there is still room for improvement until our journal ranks at the top of Springers list. I wish you a nice summer time.
