Sehr geehrte Damen und Herren, werte Kolleginnen und Kollegen! Die AK Niederösterreich, Abteilung Wirtschaftspolitik und die Österreichische Verkehrswissenschaftliche Gesellschaft laden Sie/Dich sehr herzlich zu folgender Veranstaltung ein: Wie kommen die ArbeitnehmerInnen in Zukunft zu ihrem Arbeitsplatz? 9. Oktober 2018, 17:00 bis 21:00 Uhr, AK Niederösterreich (AK-Platz 1, 3100 St. Pölten) Mobilität und Arbeit sind untrennbar miteinander verbunden. Die Hälfte der NiederösterreicherInnen pendelt bereits jetzt täglich über die Bezirksgrenze zu und von ihrem Dienstort. Eng daran geknüpft sind die Fragen von Infrastrukturausbau und leistbarem Wohnraum, die gerade bei der Arbeitsplatzsituation von entscheidender Relevanz sind. Auch das Klima verändert sich durch die vom Menschen verursachten Treibhausgase. In Österreich verursacht der Verkehr 45 % der Treibhausgase. Um die Klimaziele von Paris zu erreichen, müssen sie drastisch reduziert werden! Wie sehen dazu die Prognosen für die Zukunft aus? Welche Maßnahmen sind notwendig, um die bestmöglichen Rahmenbedingungen für ArbeitnehmerInnen zu schaffen? Welche Herausforderungen und Chancen ergeben sich dabei für Niederösterreich? Wie kommen die ArbeitnehmerInnen in Zukunft zu ihrem Arbeitsplatz? Diese Fragen stehen im Zentrum der Veranstaltung. Im Anschluss daran findet eine Expertendiskussion statt. We develop a dynamic equilibrium model of heterogeneous firms who compete for workers and customers in frictional labor and product markets. Idiosyncratic productivity and demand shocks have distinct implications for the firms' output and price adjustments. Using panel data on prices and output for German manufacturing firms, we calibrate the model to evaluate the quantitative contributions of productivity and demand for the labor market and the dispersions of prices and labor productivity. We further analyze the impact of shocks to the first and second moments of idiosyncratic risk on macroeconomic outcomes. The Institute for Macroeconomics is currently inviting applications for a full-time Assistant Professor, non-tenure track position (Universitätsassistent/in post-doc, employee subject to the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Staff - Angestellte/r gemäß Kollektivvertrag für die Arbeitnehmer/innen der Universitäten; gross monthly salary, paid 14 times per year: Euro 3,711.10). This substitute employee position will be limited to a period from October 15, 2018 (commencement date subject to change) until October 1, 2020. Please note that under the terms of the WU personnel development plan, the position of Assistant Professor, non-tenure track, is limited to an employment period of not more than six years. Applicants who are already employed at WU as substitute employees can therefore only be employed for the time remaining to complete the six-year period.
