Dear all, WWTF is happy to announce a call (as a pilot call) for projects in the Empirical Social Sciences with a focus on quantitative data research. The call is open to all topics in social sciences. This call also provides an opportunity/funding to work with microdata of the recent Austria Microdata Center at Statistik Austria, which will start its operations on July 1. We would encourage you to look at the available data there. Furthermore, the call also invites research that wants to work with other large data sets. Their mission has tended to broaden and increase. Given the scope and complexity of the shocks, interactions between various policy areas – monetary, financial stability, fiscal and even health, energy and defence – have been highlighted. The notion of independent central banks in charge of a single (or even dual) mandate is put to test and questioned. This workshop brings together eminent researchers in the field to discuss recent advances in their research to gain insights on these complex interactions and to understand, where central banks as independent guardians of price stability are moving. Dear colleagues, the Vienna Institute of Demography (VID) of the Austrian Academy of Sciences (OeAW), Austria's leading non-university research and science institution, is offering a PHD STUDENT POSITION (F*M) (part-time / 30h per week) to join the research group on Economic Demography in the project "Reducing Inequality Within and Across Generations" (RIWAG) funded by the OeNB Anniversary Fund for a duration of up to 2 years. Miguel Sánchez-Romero and his team aim at providing a unified framework for studying and mitigating the economic and demographic consequences of increasing inequality not just in respect to income and wealth but also in respect to health and longevity.
